Should the House Investigate Possible Collusion Between the Trump Campaign and Russia?

by Countable | 11.8.18

What’s the story?

  • Rep. Adam Schiff of California, who is poised to assume command of the House Intelligence Committee, has vowed to investigate Donald Trump after the GOP “completely abdicated” their oversight of the president. This includes reopening the investigation into Russian meddling during the 2016 presidential race.
  • In March, Republicans closed the House Intelligence Committee’s probe into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, concluding there was no collusion. Schiff has said that ending the probe was a “terrible disservice to the country and the American people."
“There are serious and credible allegations the Russians may possess financial leverage over the president, including perhaps the laundering of Russian money through his businesses,” Schiff wrote in an Oct. 12 op-ed. “It would be negligent to our national security not to find out.”
  • Trump has threatened a counter-investigation, posting on twitter:

What do you think?

Would you support efforts by the Democrat-controlled House to investigate Russia meddling in the 2016 election? What else – if anything – would you like the Intelligence Committee to investigate? Take action above, then share your thoughts below.
