The Daily Countable: Trump Pursues Trade Abroad, While Democrats Push Progressive Agenda At Home

by Countable | 11.9.17

On the Radar

Greetings, Countable users! The highs and lows of federal politics and the news cycle continue unabated.

  • This week's elections were historic, and are likely to herald significant policy changes in some states as Democrats push for progressive policies around healthcare, the environment and marijuana legalization. What could that mean for you? Read about it here.

  • Also, the president continues his Asian tour, wading deep into the question of the U.S.-China trade relationship. Does China make out better than the U.S. in that relationship? The president thinks so. But he also says it's not China's fault, "After all, who can blame a country for being able to take advantage of another country for benefit of their citizens? I give China great credit."

Under the Radar

  • The president addressed the South Korean National Assembly Wednesday, as well as North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un directly. Are his strong warnings to Kim justified and appropriate, or is he fanning the flames of war? Read more about the speech and tell us what you think.

  • And before we all dive into anticipation of the next election, we want to know about this one. Did you get a sticker, and what's the history behind the 'I Voted' sticker anyway? You can also leave us a video describing your voting experience and telling us why you vote right here.
