Quote O' the Day: "The War on Breathing"

by Countable | 10.12.17

As we told you about in this story, the Trump administration is ending an Obama-era clean power initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Scott Pruitt, who heads the EPA, said the rule hurts coal-fired plants.

That sparked an op-ed in the Baltimore Sun to make this remark, today's Quote O' The Day:

45’s agenda is a clear & present danger to the entire planet. He doesn’t believe in science, but science doesn’t believe in him or his hacks. Science, in the end, will demonstrate the ignorance of his administration. Too bad we all have to suffer. That is, if the Rs refuse to grow a spine & a conscience.

I wish we could pump all this coal and pollution filled air into the offices of the republicans since it is so "healthy"..let them breathe it 😝

Coal is outdated and we should be moving away from it. The coal industry is destroying our environment and air and spreading lies about, “Clean Coal.” It is time to shut them down and move to alternatives.

First, I think we should stop referring to Scott Pruitt and other Administration directors as Leaders, as none of them exhibit the qualities of a Leader or possesses the integrity or skills to be addressed as The Leader or Head of anything. The pollution from Coal and other environmental hazards should be pumped and dumped through their homes, offices, The Capitol and their children’s schools. This may help offset their ignorance in society. They should also be required to use the Republican Healthcare plan for their acquired lifelong illnesses, regardless of what better healthcare may be available.

Industries die. It happens. Donald Trump might as well have campaigned on getting telephone operators their jobs back! This man lied to every group and for some reason everyone believed him.

We must not return to the use of coal. Especially as they remove health care. We need to promote alternative energy.

Greenhouse gasses have no correlation to the temperature of the planet, there has been studies done showing this. The studies done that show otherwise are a result of scientist falsifying data to get grant money from the government

The fact is Coal remains the only energy source that is cheap and plentiful, and even if we did go full scale solar or wind power – which is at this time way too expensive to be economically feasible – even then we would still need all our coal resources for back-up whenever the wind doesn’t blow and the sunshine isn’t bright enough. But the real issue here is that we have yet another ‘war’ on something or other that is actually nothing of the kind - again LOL! But don’t expect the left to acknowledge any of that — that trope will get used for YEARS to insinuate that the right is Any less interested in ‘breathing’ than the oh-so Angelic left. But it’s all good - we can certainly use all those formerly Democrat voters the left is sending our side by doubling-down on all this continued idiotic nonsense thus. One can only hope they keep this kind of thing up, Because it’s exactly what drove so many voters over to our side allowing us to win the general election. #MoreTrumpPlease!

It is ridiculous that we are pursuing these symbolic anti-environmental stances while not only is sustainable energy sources the clear way forward, but as climate change only worsens. The administration can't be allowed to just cowtow to its desperate base. We need to not just stop Trump, but also reach out to these communities that desperately need work and get them supporting themselves in new ways, so they don't need coal!

Give me a break, we need coal. We artificially lower the cost of alternative energies with subsidies. Coal can be cleaned up using scrubbers and other methods plus science can do far more if given research money. Eventually, alternative energies will get low enough and efficient enough but until that time, keep all energy options on the table.

Chump appointed The EPA’s biggest opponent to run the organization into the ground. Polluters are preparing to dump tons of pollutants into the air we breath, the food we eat and and the water we drink. Please stop this ignorant fool before he does anymore damage. Impeach Chump NOW!

You all are crazy. What will power your electric cars? Are we going to plow down forests to install wind turbines? Have you even thought of how many turbines it would take to power your town? Are we going to have a nuclear plant in every charging station? If you think we are ready to get ride of energy from coal, then you are either ignorant, or have blinders on, and don’t want to seek the truth. Someday it would be nice. Until then, you need to accept reality.

Keep the air clean!! If we do burn any coal, there should be more than adequate filtering of the emissions to keep the air clean. That would be a mandatory trade-off in using coal.

We are witnessing a great surge in the advance of solar and wind powered energy system. We are also seeing great advances in storage batteries for energy as a compliment to these systems. Fossil fuels such as coal and oil pollute our land, water, and air, and are dangerous to our life on this planet; dirty air, destruction of land, pollution of drinking water are not compatible with life on earth. To try to resurrect these pollutants is dangerous and benefits a small group of profiteers such as Donald Trump. UnAmerican activities should not be condoned!

Wow trump you are using materials that have been used since the time of cave men you're such a villain. I can't believe you would use the most abundant fossil fuel in the world for our power... jokes aside I was recently on an ASP missions trip to West Virginia and what I saw was appalling... so much poverty and so many people without jobs, homes falling apart and kids with no hope of education. It is hard for me to ever want to send foreign aid anywhere when the 3rd world is in our back yard and the reason for this is the shutting down of the coal rich mines of West Virginia and the rest of the alps.
