Welcome to Friday, denizens...
"Saudi Arabia Must Say What Happened to Missing Journalist"
"Saudi Arabia Must Answer to Khashoggi Allegations"
"Khashoggi was murdered, Saudis did it, leading Republican says"
This random sampling of headlines are in reference to Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist who also wrote for the Washington Post. Khashoggi, who's been critical of the Saudi government, disappeared last week after visiting the country's consulate in Turkey.
Turkish officials believe Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate. The Saudis deny this claim, but have not been able to provide any proof he safely left the building.
On Wednesday, top foreign policy lawmakers in the Senate - led by Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker and top Democrat Bob Menendez - enforced a law that requires President Trump to launch an investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance and to enforce sanctions against any individual found responsible for the matter.
Complicating matters: earlier this year, the State Department approved military arms sales to Saudi Arabia worth slightly over $1 billion.

You may have heard, for instance, that one of the biggest issues in the midterms is health insurance.
Well, yesterday we posted an article about how Obamacare premiums are going down, and asked "Does Healthcare Matter for You in the Midterms?"
Add your "Yes", "Maybe", or "No" to the mix here.

From the most recent news accounts, this journalists death occurred in the Saudi embassy. I have heard there is video and audio of his murder as reported on major news networks last night. Americans were horrified by the beheadings of journalists, and too many others, by ISIS. Should we be any less outraged by the murder and possible dismemberment of this corespondent by the Saudi government? JaredKushner received a $100, 000,000 loan from Saudi royal family. Pres. Trump’s flagship hotel in NYC was under water until the Saudi Prince and his entourage stayed there. Is this why Trump is so soft on the Saudi government. It is time to call out the Saudi government for this barbaric act.
The science behind the ethanol mandate has been discredited in the years since its enactment. Requiring corn’s use in fuel is unwise; further subsidizing it to keep it competitive with gasoline is foolish. Let’s instead use those dollars to increase R&D funding, advancing technologies that make America more efficient and energy independent.
So Trump is either actively trying to destroy the environment or is the stupidest, most selfish jackass to befoul our White House. At this point, does it even matter? The sooner he is out, the better. Maybe then we can repair our country and try to begin to fix that moron's divisive, bad decisions.
Dear GOP, Stop trying to screw over our Postal System. For a Political Party that insists that it’s focus is on preserving the Constitution you sure are busy trying to find more ways to rip it up. The USPS was founded by Ben Franklin and actually is specifically mentioned in the Constitution. I’m pretty sure a functioning Postal System is vital to a functioning Nation. So Why are you trying to destroy it? You do realize Fed-ex and UPS DEPEND on the USPS to deliver a considerable percentage of their packages because they can’t even begin to meet the demand don’t you? Oops..so much for the Superiority of the Privatized Corporations over Government functions.
