Welcome to Friday, denizens...
"Saudi Arabia Must Say What Happened to Missing Journalist"
"Saudi Arabia Must Answer to Khashoggi Allegations"
"Khashoggi was murdered, Saudis did it, leading Republican says"
This random sampling of headlines are in reference to Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist who also wrote for the Washington Post. Khashoggi, who's been critical of the Saudi government, disappeared last week after visiting the country's consulate in Turkey.
Turkish officials believe Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate. The Saudis deny this claim, but have not been able to provide any proof he safely left the building.
On Wednesday, top foreign policy lawmakers in the Senate - led by Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker and top Democrat Bob Menendez - enforced a law that requires President Trump to launch an investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance and to enforce sanctions against any individual found responsible for the matter.
Complicating matters: earlier this year, the State Department approved military arms sales to Saudi Arabia worth slightly over $1 billion.
Do you support a probe into the journalist's disappearance? Tell your reps here.

You may have heard, for instance, that one of the biggest issues in the midterms is health insurance.
Well, yesterday we posted an article about how Obamacare premiums are going down, and asked "Does Healthcare Matter for You in the Midterms?"
Add your "Yes", "Maybe", or "No" to the mix here.
Be careful this weekend: despite what entomologists may tell you, bees actually don't live in hives, they live in cider mill garbage cans,

What is wrong with this president? We need to save our planet, not ruin our planet!
And leave the damn USPS alone!!!
The human race is heading toward extinction and our Federal government must be a leader in saving us from Annihilation. But the president is only concerned about profits to the detriment of our ecology. He conveniently labels any news he doesn’t like as fake news.
Countable has a preponderance of liberal trolls, but they don’t reflect the sentiment of the country at all!
Liberals are doom and gloom. Get over yourselves. Pathetic
We won’t save our planet by burning our food, we will do it through the use of alternative energy. This was a bandaid on a broken arm. The flex fuel cars will still take advantage of cheaper fuels (albeit lower efficiencies) and we can explore higher efficiency vehicles, alternatives like natural gas and electric. I didn’t buy my clean air vehicle because it was green but because it was a better option and a fun car, that’s how we will change the world.
The death of this journalist absolutely should be investigated, despite Trump’s “friendship” with the regime. This is probably why they felt they could do such a thing. And NO to privatizing the post office!
I want there to be a world left for my son to grow up in. Obviously you don’t. I vote. Every election. I want the environment protected and a life for my child, not money in your bank account. I’m so tired of lies.
Environmentalism has been taken over by extremists who vilify humans, placing extra emphasis on the United States and its citizens. We need to take back environmentalism from these fanatics and return to reasonable common sense solutions. The EPA should only serve as a research and advisory roll and return legislating to the legislature and hold its members accountable at election time for ALL of the laws they create.
We need to keep the Post Office and keep Republican Doner’s out. And Trump is a joke. The only ones left is Cult45 this isn’t America First this is Trump family first and screw our country. Principled Republicans have left! VOTE no matter what VOTE!
Ethenol sucks as a fuel additive. How about we lift the requirements to have it put in our gasoline as well?
This is what happens when you run all the scientists out of the WH.
The piece by piece sell off of federal services is to the detriment of our country and the profit of the top 1%
The science behind the ethanol mandate has been discredited in the years since its enactment. Requiring corn’s use in fuel is unwise; further subsidizing it to keep it competitive with gasoline is foolish. Let’s instead use those dollars to increase R&D funding, advancing technologies that make America more efficient and energy independent.
This will worsen health and healthcare issues. When we pollute the air, we pollute ourselves.
Ethanol is total politics at its worst. If Minnesota weren’t a farm state you would be against it. It’s more expensive creates more green house gases to create and doesn’t solve the real issue which is moving to energy independence through renewable green
Project our air and keep the Post Office in the Federal Government.
So Trump is either actively trying to destroy the environment or is the stupidest, most selfish jackass to befoul our White House. At this point, does it even matter? The sooner he is out, the better. Maybe then we can repair our country and try to begin to fix that moron's divisive, bad decisions.
We have to resist this administration’s outright assault on the environment! What an idiot!
Trump should be exiled and left to die
Dear GOP, Stop trying to screw over our Postal System. For a Political Party that insists that it’s focus is on preserving the Constitution you sure are busy trying to find more ways to rip it up. The USPS was founded by Ben Franklin and actually is specifically mentioned in the Constitution. I’m pretty sure a functioning Postal System is vital to a functioning Nation. So Why are you trying to destroy it? You do realize Fed-ex and UPS DEPEND on the USPS to deliver a considerable percentage of their packages because they can’t even begin to meet the demand don’t you? Oops..so much for the Superiority of the Privatized Corporations over Government functions.
Why risk smog problems to use a negative energy fuel source?
Oh great. More corn subsidies. Didn't he say that we were going to be open to trade? No tariffs, no barriers, NO SUBSIDIES?
We need to stop acting like the environment isn’t dying. We need to take care of it before it stops taking care of us.
We just had important information come out about our climate this week that we should use as a critical part of our decision-making on policy. It’s evidence-based solid science. Let’s keep our regulations and direct our dollars into supporting climate-friendly industry and beefing up our economy by investing in industries with eco-friendly practices that sustainably improve our economy.
