It’s just shy of a year since the release of President Donald Trump’s "grab ‘em by the pussy" Access Hollywood tape. To mark the anniversary, women’s rights group Ultraviolet projected the video on a giant screen between the White House and Washington Monument. They ran the video on repeat for 12 hours.
After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, San Juan’s mayor, Carmen Yulín Cruz, criticized the U.S. response, saying, "We are dying here. And I cannot fathom the thought that the greatest nation in the world cannot figure out the logistics for a small island of 100 miles by 35 miles. So, Mr. Trump, I am begging you to take charge and save lives. After all, that is one of the founding principles of the [U.S.] If not, the world will see how we are treated not as second-class citizens but as animals that can be disposed of. Enough is enough."
In response, Trump tweeted, "The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump."
The mayor of San Juan appeared on Univision last week wearing a T-shirt that read "NASTY."
(The Spanish translates to: "What is really nasty is that anyone would turn their back on the Puerto Rican people.")
During a Senate hearing with Equifax CEO Richard Smith on the company’s massive data breach, the Baking Committee received a unique cameo: the Monopoly Man.
Rich Uncle Pennybags (his given name) couldn’t believe what his monocle was seeing as Smith discussed 143 million American consumers whose personal data was exposed by the hack.
The part was played by Amanda Werner, who works with a consumer rights and protections advocacy group. Werner told NPR the aim was to get people to "to call their senators and tell them to vote no on S.J.Res 47." The bill would overturn a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule that allows consumers to take companies to court via class-action lawsuits.
Not all public displays are meant to incite, some are meant to inspire.
Greg Zanis, a carpenter from Illinois, drove 1,700 from his Aurora home to put up crosses in Las Vegas for each of the victims of the mass shooting. Police helped Zanis erect the 58 crosses in a single file line behind the "Welcome to Las Vegas Sign."
The carpenter wrote a victim’s name on each cross. He also brought Stars of Davids for Jewish victims.
"This row of crosses will show the severity of what really happened there. More so than numbers and pictures in the paper," Zanis told WGN9.

Everyday feels like public insurrection. We want to go back to our lives. We need someone in charge with a level head who does not want to kill us, take away our rights or start a race, civil or world war.
This political game the President, and now the Vice President, play with tax-payer dollars and at the expense of getting any serious or respectful work done must be stopped. Hard-working Americans struggle to afford day-to-day expenses yet our money is being spent on frivolous golf excursions and lime-light grabs for attention. No reasonable person would have expected NFL players to not take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, as is their First Amendment right. Vice-President Pence lowered himself to the childish antics of the President, at considerable cost to the tax-payer, to attend an NFL game only to feign indignation at an expression of civil disobedience. Stop the madness - stop treating Americans as if we are fools who won’t notice we’re all stuck in some Groundhog Day loop of a reality TV show.
This is real life This is not a realty show This is not some golden tower with golden bidets This is not 18 holes for fat butted rich old vain white guys This is the United States Of america We are the boss of you Drop the alternate reality orange headed Rapunzel and all the little Trumpunzels off at their tower and get my country back to its democracy now Enough is enough Somebody listen to Corker I’m sure he’ll drive the magic coach to save his country and serve his constituents
GOOD FOR THEM. THE LAST I KNEW THE KINDS OF THINGS TRUMP DOES & SAYS ARE NOT DECENT OR CHRISTIAN, JUST AS IT'S NOT PRESIDENTIAL NOR AMERICAN. HE DESERVES TO BE IMPEACHED.
Most of the republicans in power are not responding to the insanity of this administration. Let me do a shout out for McCain and Corker because they are two who are and, sadly, they can speak their truth because they know they aren’t running for Senate again. It appears Trump can’t stand the fact that so many people loved Obama; he is trying to end everything Obama put into place so his legacy will be erased and forgotten in history. And most of the republicans in power are helping Trump. It doesn’t matter that some of the regulations Obama put in place are needed by the American people (or not). The current administration doesn’t care about this country or the American people. They just want adoration for themselves. Sad.
Impeach Trump now
This government is harming America! Time to take the awful gop out of power! #resistance
I think people should be able to express their opinions in a creative way!
Impeach Trump ASAP. My understanding about impeachment is Congress must vote for impeachment. The “offense” could be anything from sticking a tongue out in public to passing g** in public.
What we hear about more and more is simply media fodder and heinous acts which have been happening on a figurative level for centuries. Now that every news and fake news outlet is blaring loudly in so many directions, we are no longer “one nation [...] indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” No. The media has turned this country on its head with all of the spin and opines, speculation by “experts” whom have no more expert opinions than the rest of us - but their expensive education makes them “more correct” for us to listen to and believe. If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention. Think about it people - from where are you getting the facts? Are you listening to what someone tells you to believe or are you finding out for yourself? That in itself ought to tell you your level of ignorance as it applies to how this country is truly surviving and thriving.
These displays make me proud to be an American.
Anyone thinking about what our forefathers would be doing right now? Would The hemp farmer, George Washington take up arms against this tyrannical government? What about Thomas Jefferson? Ben Franklin? Waist deep in corruption or defending our liberty from the likes of Donald Trump and John Katko.
It is time for public displays. The people in charge of our government should be called on the blatant lies, thievery ( $71m spent on golf games and resort fees), temper tantrums, and bringing us to the brink of WWIII. The destruction of a country that has been struggling for 8 years to move forward into the 21st century in peace, not constant war. With the knowledge that if you are willing AND ABLE to work there is a job, that every human is loved and cared for. Instead we have a government run by a two year old with a severe case of ADHD, and minions running around trying to keep him calm, and others feeding him to the brim with hate, rhetoric, and bigotry. If we don’t start holding him and his administration accountable, we won’t HAVE a country to call great, nor will we have a sustainable planet.
Looking for an attorney willing to file a lawsuit against MSM for discrimination. Maybe if they showed law enforcement doing their job with all people instead of just blacks, the country would realize that we are all treated equally. Media needs to stop dividing the masses.
Idk if I’m just an old crabby lady but I’m kind of tired of everybody WANTING SOMETHING FROM THE GOVERNMENT. JFK once said, “ask not what your country can do for you but what YOU can do for your country.” I’m not saying I TOTALLY agree with JFK but when do Americans stop asking everyone to kiss every one of their boo boos? If you choose to live on an island in the middle of hurricane alley then don’t you think it’s wrong to expect everyone else to come save you? I’m not talking about just PR I’m talking about other places no one has any business building. And what part of EVACUATION did they miss?
This is the country I was born in and served and lived until trump. Entertainment is art and can be political. The President and Congress on the other hand are not intended to be entertainment and yet that's all they want to be involved with lately. Putting on shows at NFL games, making fun of American Citizens by making fun of their language, demanding suspensions for blogging their own opinions, demanding equal time on comedy talk shows and generally making asses of themselves. Enough is enough. The Government is not reality tv. Impeach Trump and Pence and the GOP.
“Mister Moneybags” showing up at that hearing, wiping his brow with wads of “cash” as the questioning got tough was a thespian delight! We need more inventive, entertaining and provocative public displays of the corruption and hypocrisy that surrounds Trump and the political party that created him...
In the military there are rules of conduct. We could see the direct unimpeachable enforcement of those rules in the actions of leadership at the Air Force Academy a few weeks ago. Our President and representatives should hold themselves to those same standards. I don’t need to hear their personal opinions, I just need them to be honest, ethical and work always, on behalf of the People. Idea...get off FB and Twitter or refuse to participate in hate rhetoric on those platforms.
I'm so happy for this! Peaceful protesting is constitutional, for those who are complaining. Just remember that.
