Trump Pens Op-Ed Attacking Democratic Support for ‘Medicare for All’

by Axios | Updated on 10.10.18

In USA Today, President Trump published an op-ed branding "Medicare for All" — increasingly popular among Democrats — as "Medicare for None," claiming it would mean "the end of choice for seniors over their own health care decisions" and cost taxpayers $32.6 trillion in its first 10 years.

What he's saying: "The truth is that the centrist Democratic Party is dead. The new Democrats are radical socialists who want to model America’s economy after Venezuela."

Healthcare for all. It's not about cost. It's about profit. That's why Trump hates it. Whatever he hates he just lables as another socialist program. He's really pretty transparent. How gullible are those that believe he's just trying to help our country. Better wake up.

Didn't trump promise something similar when he was campaigning @ least for a hot minute? While claiming to be a revolutionary for supporting Healthcare 4 all as a republican. I support congress being subjected to whatever healthcare they legislate on. They need to be in touch w/ their constituents & have some skin in this fight. Maybe then big pharma will be forced out of dark money & will start to give US comparable prescription costs to every other nation.

I am so sick of hearing about tax cuts for the rich. EVERYONE received an increase in standard deductions with Trump’s tax overhaul. The standard deduction amounts will increase to $12,000 for individuals, $18,000 for heads of household, and $24,000 for married couples filing jointly and surviving spouses. If you don’t see that as money in your pocket, then you are a moron. The President’s assessment is spot on. To pay for all these socialist proposals we could not pay for ANYTHING else, including defense of our country and your idiotic ideas. Please stop trying to buy votes, Dems, by feeding this crap to the enormously uniformed. I’d say uneducated, but there in lies the problem. These masses of the new Socialist Democrat Party have been over educated by The Leftist-Marxist who have purged campuses of any alternate or rational thought.

45 is a lying Fascist. He would rather fatten the bankrolls of Big Med and Big Pharma than help the people. We all pay right now anyway with cost shifting. Universal single payer healthcare is the best way.

“OUR PRESIDENT, IS RIGHT, ONCE AGAIN “ “The truth is that the centrist Democratic Party is dead. The new Democrats are radical socialists who want to model America’s economy after Venezuela." The Progressive Democratic Party is slowing shifting its agenda and philosophy more and more towards Socialism each an every year. Just look at the number of Socialists running in the 2018 election cycle and we can see that facts bear out the the truth which of course we will be seeing Democratic, MSM, and Social Media sources confirming the apparent truth Folks. 10*10*18 ..... Yea I wish democrats supported it. Also, kinda funny that someone who half the time said things in support of it during the primaries is now railing against. Way to add another drop to the sea of hypocrisy.

You have shown your true colors. Take away health care, cover for the con-man who is our President, corrupt the Supreme Court, increase the national debt so your donors can have a tax break. Your resignation would be the best thing you can do for me.

Medicare fo all is ridiculous. Research the funding mechanisms for Medicare and then tell me how you are going to pay for it. How much more are YOU willing to pay? I think I know.

“But giving away tax cuts, is cost effective?” Michael says. See Michael, that is why you and I will never agree. You see all money as belonging to the government. I see it As belonging to the person who earned it.

His inflammatory comments have helped no one find solutions to our problems. Ignore the comments and focus on a solution for he has none.

I’m amazed that this President can actually write in complete sentences. I have my doubts that he actually wrote this article himself. Regardless, even when he writes in complete sentences, everything he says happens to be wrong.

Medicare for all as an alternative to insurance is doable. This Democrat (me) believes that we need a universal healthcare program that everyone pays into based on means, not ‘free coverage for all’. Not like the ACA-but blanket coverage for everyone. You no longer have an insurance company between you and your doctor. And you have the option of seeking care early, before the situation becomes dire.
