President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday, three days after the mass shooting that left 59 dead and over 500 wounded. In the three and a half hours that the president was in Nevada he visited with survivors and medical professionals at Las Vegas hospital, as well as first responders.
When asked about addressing gun control the president responded, "We’re not going to talk about that today."
Here is video of the president speaking to the press at Las Vegas hospital after visiting with survivors and medical staff:
The president then met directly with first responders, and praised their "professionalism":

Finally, President Trump offered an address, along with Governor Sandoval:

What do you think?
Did the president acquit himself well today in Las Vegas? Should he have addressed questions about gun control or not?

I thought it was appropriate that Trump didn’t mention gun control. No amount of gun control would have stopped this tragic event!!!
He has nothing to say nor do I want to listen to him anymore. He is a pawn for the NRA and will do nothing to protect Americans. I have lost what little bit of respect I had for him. Totally disgusted with his words and actions.
No amount of gun control would have stopped this idiot
I don't understand how Trump and congressional leadership can see something like Las Vegas happen and not try to prevent or minimize future occurrences from happening. But if people's hearts we're broken to the point of action after Sandy Hook, I doubt this will inspire our republican leaders to get over their own impotence.
Trump promised to "Make America Safe Again", yet the deadliest mass-shooting in U.S. history just happened UNDER HIS WATCH! What a weak president he has been so far. A real president would have put people over his own party and call for stricter gun-control and admit his mistake of siding with pro-gun lunatics instead of with the majority of Americans.
Classic leftist bodies aren't even cold yet and everything is PRESEDENT TRUMPS fault, that's all the left has anymore, maybe u lefties should take a long look in the mirror and see how much hate YOU create! THE PRESEDENT SAID WE WILL TALK GUN CONTROLL BUT NOW IS NOT THE TIME! Remember this guy only had a speeding ticket for behavior issues, any gun law to date would not have stopped him, since automatic weapons ARE illegal we need to limit an arsonnal and ban the ability to convert semi auto to fully auto...that would be a good start the key also is your democrats are gonna have to break thier promise to never work with this PRESEDENT to even begin a debate!!! GROW UP!!!
We should put counter-snipers at events like this. If we add that extra element of security we could save lives. It would be faster and more effective than any law we can pass. It would also be a deterrent, so whether or not the guns are legal or illegal we would still minimize damage.
Talking gun control, making all guns illegal or just some, it is not going to change anything. People that want to kill and destroy others will find a way. Look at Europe, there the preferred method is using vehicles to run into large crowds. Imagine a semi running through that place. You can kill someone with a pencil, and how about 911? Planes are pretty destructive as well. Instead of picking on the president, the NRA, who by the way are working on this issue, we as Americans drop this petty whining and actually change our own attitude, show more respect, be aware of others, show concern and try to make a difference in front of our own door first before we venture out and find fault with everyone else and everything else.
When he visited las Vegas....I'm pretty sure he was more worried about the people then about talking gun control.Lets get this straight:When events like this happens....It is the duty of the President to comfort, uplift, and aid those people. Gun control can always be talked about a few days later.Stop trying to twist the President's visit into something that he was planning to address when it was at a appropriate time.
If not now, if not today - WHEN? The nation mourns; our hearts are broken yet again. Look - don’t want your hunting rifles or even your “sport” pistols. I want killing machines off limits to anyone who is not using them on the battlefield. I want automatic rifles outlawed in every state in this country. I want the devices one can buy to soup-up their guns so they can rapid-fire into a crowd outlawed. If you have an automatic weapon in your gun safe - I want you to have to turn it in to law enforcement so it can be destroyed. I don’t want to hear “Now is not the time.” ANYMORE. I don’t want to pray for victims and their families. ANYMORE . Because I don’t want there to be any more victims of this kind of senseless tragedy. We pull the trigger just as surely as the shooter - we must bear that responsibility as we have the right to bear arms - if we do not act TODAY. Where is the hero who will step forward today to talk about the end of gun violence in America? To talk about silencing the voice of the NRA - and stopping the cash flow that lines the pockets of our elected representatives?
We currently do not have much of any gun control. Go to a gun show and see for yourself how easy it is to buy a gun of any magnitude. I am a hunter and want assault weapons banned and all those sold to be confiscated with reimbursement to the buyer
OF COURSE HE DIDN'T. He gets lots of money from the NRA WHICH IS OWNED BY THE GUN MANUFACTURERS.
I find it ridiculous when people claim guns don’t kill innocent people. Crazy people with guns do. You wouldn’t blame s truck that ran over people and ban all trucks. Ok. Let me just make this clear: guns are weapons. They aren’t made for ANYTHING else except killing wounding or maiming Trucks are transportation. Yes people may use them as some type of weapon. But that isn’t what they are made for. Guns are specifically for KILLING. Apples and oranges maybe?
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We need you to fight for us. Why does any American need ten assault weapons? Why does any American need one assault weapon?! American people are going to keep losing their lives unless our congress is brave enough to stand up the the NRA. PLEASE be on the right side of history here and urge your colleagues to do the same.
The second amendment wasn't meant to cover assault rifles and automatic weapons. The NRA has their hands in the pockets of too many politicians someone has to be the voice of reason and make a stand against these weapons
After the photo op nonsense in Puerto Rico, it was just one more sad moment for the country
It’s time to get rid of lobbyists and their money. Congress exists for the benefit of American citizens, not for corporate interests. The NRA has bought off too many of our congress people and have subverted the text of the constitution. The second amendment talks about a well-regulated militia, not about individual nut jobs running around with military grade weapons. The founding fathers were concerned about weapons that fired one bullet at a time, not weapons that can fire hundreds of bullets in seconds.
President trump is just went for show himself in LV he didn’t care about gun Violence at all
So nice to see the president echoing NRA talking points. NOT. This is the time to talk about gun control. We didn’t wait for a politically correct time to talk about travel restrictions after 9/11. Sorry, I do not support the NRA goal of having a gun in every ones hands. I do not support the NRA goal of subverting the 2nd amendment into a gun for anyone. I want sensible gun regulation and I want military weapons banned from the general public
