Now that Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) has announced his retirement, rumors are already swirling about who might take his seat. All the usual suspects, including already seated representatives in Tennessee like Rep. Marsha Blackburn, are being floated by party leadership. But voters don’t necessarily want what the party leadership wants anymore...
A particularly solid suggestion that caught our eye:
What do you think? Dolly Parton for Senate? If not Dolly, then who? Tell us in the comments! Or, check out more suggestions in our previous article Reese Witherspoon for Senate?!?!

Why not Senator Dolly Parton? We have a president who was a game show host and a failed (bankrupt) businessman. At least Dolly has a moral center and compassion for others. And she’s not a corrupt, self-centered, greedy child-man.
At least Dolly Parton's charity actually helps people instead of pretending to.
I actually think Dolly Parton would make an EXCELLENT Senator. SHE knows what it's LIKE to be poor. . .REALLY POOR. Dolly has morals unlike Trump's base Senators who are morally bankrupt and abound with moral turpitude. I say we pitch Dolly! Hell, we could even get Tennessee to *write in* Dolly! Bet she'd win, hands down if we could get her campaign off the ground!
Stop the nonsense stories.
Better to have more scientists and engineers than some of the current flock who run but seemingly lack any sort of knowledge or understanding of complex data. Can't make decisions or are only there to perpetuate their income.
We are better off with people who have held local, state and national seats first. A working knowledge of the law is good. Pass a background check (extensive). Also, they should be at least required to pass the same test for citizenship we require showing they have a basic working knowledge on the Constitution and our government. Also pass an ethics exam.

I once heard Dolly Parton on National Press Club. She talked for most of an hour and she is BRILLIANT. I would vote for her in a heartbeat!
It’s not easy to pretend
